The Loeb Music Library houses an extensive collection of materials related to music history, performance, and ethnomusicology. Though many of Loeb's holdings are recent texts, it also oversees the rare books in the Isham Memorial Library, along with over 160,000 scores and 100,000 audio recordings.
One of its most notable collections is the Archive of World Music (est. 1976), which contains field recordings made by Harvard ethnomusicologists. Its holdings are especially strong in South Asian and Middle Eastern recordings.
