The Harvard-Yenching Library holds an extensive collection of East Asian books, periodicals, and manuscripts. Its treasures include rare Chinese books from the 12th century, 17th-century Korean genealogies, and the Rev. Claude L. Pickens, Jr. Collection on Muslims in China. Though the Harvard-Yenching Library's collections are primarily text-based, they also contain photographs, historical documents, and a few other material objects.
