The Busch-Reisinger Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the art of the German-speaking countries of central and northern Europe. The oldest items in the collection were created in the 7th century, but the collection's great strength is in paintings dating from the late 19th century to the present. Busch-Reisinger also holds notable collections of medieval and early modern sculpture and ceramics.
