The Harvard Forest covers 3,000 acres in North-Central Massachusetts. In addition to providing a recreational area for hunters, hikers, and horseback riders, the Harvard Forest provides a site for long-term research into ecology, biodiversity, and forest conservation.

The Fisher Museum at Harvard Forest is devoted to educating the public about New England's landscape history, ecology, and current research being conducted at the Harvard Forest. The museum features 23 dioramas depicting moments in the history of New England's forests from 1700 to the present.
