Tozzer Library holds the bulk of Harvard's research materials in anthropology and archaeology. With 250,000 recent volumes and 2,000 periodicals, it is one of the most extensive anthropology libraries in existence.

Tozzer holds only a few objects other than texts. These include field notes and sketches from many archaeological expeditions, as well as photographs and reproductions of Central American codices. The Bowditch-Gates Collection and Scholes Collection within the Tozzer Library will be of particular interest to students of material culture.
