The Ukrainian Research Institute's collection holds books and periodicals in Ukrainian, as well as the personal papers, photographs, and scrapbooks of many influential Ukrainians and Ukrainian-Americans. Its strength is in 20th-century Ucrainica, particularly materials related to the revolutionary period (1917-1921) and the post-WWII era. In addition, it holds Ukrainian printed texts dating from the 16th century to the present. This collection is primarily dedicated to preserving texts, but there are a few other types of material objects scattered throughout.
