The Economic Botany Collection preserves over 52,000 plant specimens that relate to human cultivation and use of plants. These include samples of food plants, medicinal herbs, and artifacts made from plant matter. Most of the samples were collected in Asia and the Americas between 1870 and 1940. The Economic Botany Collection is a sub-collection of the Harvard Botanical Museum.
